Components
Here is a video showing how to download Components from DynaScape’s Sketch3D site into SketchUp.
To download components into the SketchUp from the Sketch3D website:
Log in to sketch3d.dynascape.com
Once you have logged in you will be able to access all of the components under Components tab, to be able to import into SketchUp.
Download the required components and these will be downloaded as a zipped file into Downloads folder.
Copy the downloaded components to the SketchUp Components folder.
To do this:
To import a downloaded zipped file into SketchUp, open the file and select all of the items present
Click on the Windows Start button
Type in %appdata% and then click Enter
This opens the app data folder, which is typically hidden and cannot be seen without doing a search
Select the SketchUp folder. If you don't see it, you must run the program at least once for the folder to be created.
The SketchUp folder is where you will save your components and materials.
Add the downloaded components to your Component folder under SketchUp folder, next you are going to open up SketchUp application.
When SketchUp is open, go to the right-hand side and click on the Components tab. If you don't see this tab, go to Window, then Default Tray, and make sure "Components" and "Materials" are both checked.
After that, click the blue "Details" arrow and then pick "Open or Create a Local Collection." This will open the Components folder, where you can see the downloaded components.
Next, select the folder without going into it. When you open the folder, it will appear empty even if you know there is a component within.
After selecting the folder, click "Select Folder." The downloaded component has now been imported and is ready to use in SketchUp.
