Materials
Here is a video showing how to download Materials from DynaScape’s Sketch3D website into SketchUp.
To download components into the SketchUp from the Sketch3D website:
Log in to sketch3d.dynascape.com
Once you have logged in you will be able to access all of the materials under Material and Texture tab, to be able to import into SketchUp.
Download the required materials and these will be downloaded as a zipped file into Downloads folder.
Copy the downloaded materials to the SketchUp Materials folder.
To do this:
To import a downloaded zipped file into SketchUp, open the file and select all of the items present
Click on the Windows Start button
Type in %appdata% and then click Enter
This opens the app data folder, which is typically hidden and cannot be seen without doing a search
Select the SketchUp folder. If you don't see it, you must run the program at least once for the folder to be created.
The SketchUp folder is where you will save your components and materials.
Add the downloaded materials to your Materials folder under SketchUp, next you are going to open up SketchUp application.
When SketchUp is open, go to the right-hand side and click on the Materials tab. If you don't see this tab, go to Window, then Default Tray, and make sure "Components" and "Materials" are both checked.
After that, click the blue "Details" arrow and then pick "Open or Create a Local Collection." This will open the Materials folder, where you can see the downloaded materials.
Next, select the folder without going into it. When you open the folder, it will appear empty even if you know there is a material within.
After selecting the folder, click "Select Folder." The downloaded material has now been imported and is ready to use in SketchUp.
