Part 1

This video starts with a line on a specific angle:

  1. Select the Draw a Line tool.

  2. Enter the angle you wish to have for the stringer > draw the stringer.

  3. Leaving the modifier panel open > enter the angel and the length of the tread in the modifier box.

  4. Select Offset Or Move Lines By An Absolute Parallel Distance tool.

  5. Enter the distance for the tread offset, ensure Copy is On, Constraint Off   

    Left click to highlight, right click to set the location, left click to place the next riser – this can be performed quickly.

  6. Select Draw A Line tool draw 2nd stringer down opposite side.

  7. Select Trim / Clip Lines To Closest Intersection.”

Part 2

 This video starts drawing a line at an arbitrary angle:

  1. Once a line is drawn (stringer) > select Draw A Line Perpendicular To Another Line tool from the draw tool drop down.

  2. Click Draw A Line Perpendicular To Another Line >Highlight the stringer line.

  3. Enter the length of the tread in the modifier box> click end of stringer line to place perpendicular line.

  4. Select the Offset Or Move Line(s) By An Absolute Parallel Distance tool.

  5. Select the distance for the tread offset, ensure Copy is On, Constraint Off  

    Left click to highlight, right click to set the location, left click to place the next riser (this can be performed quickly).                          

  6. Select Draw A Line tool draw 2nd stringer down opposite side.

  7. Trim / Clip Lines To Closest Intersection.”
