1. Use JPG files whenever possible. Convert TIF files to JPG if they do not import correctly.

  2. Save PDF files at C size (18 × 24) or smaller.

  3. Keep image sizes as small as possible:

    • Recommended: 600 × 600 pixels blank screen

    • Maximum: 1400 × 1400 pixels

  4. Raster images are cumulative. Using too many, especially large ones, may prevent a drawing from opening. Keep file sizes small when using multiple images.

  5. Avoid importing images from a network location.

  6. When sharing drawings that include images, ensure all image files are stored in the same file path on the recipient’s computer.

  7. Store all image files in a single, consistent location, ideally alongside your drawing files, for easy access.

  8. Scan lot plans at the smallest file size possible.

  9. Set your scanner resolution to no higher than 200 DPI.

  10. Scan lot plans in black and white to reduce file size.

  11. For large plans, request a JPG format and scan at 50% scale (200 DPI).

  12. Before inserting an image or PDF, ensure constraints are turned off.
